I had spoken to a lady a couple of weeks ago about donating old quilts and quilt tops to your organization. I gave her my telephone number but I have not heard from anyone. I have several old quilts and quilt tops that have been passed down to me and I would like to donate them. Could you please contact at the above email address.

Thanks,
Rita Cook

I am interested in finding a quilting group that could help me learn more about quilting. I recently picked up quilting in the last couple of years. I love it, but make lots of mistakes. I don't have any friends or family that quilt, so I am looking for a group that could help me. Is this a group that would help with that, or do you know of any quilting groups that meet and sew together. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

My relationship with Bev and her family began long before I started quilting. As math teachers we often ended up in the same workshops or inservice groups; Marvin coached a Junior Optimist team ( like my husband Tommy); Marla played softball with my daughter; Craig was one of my students and ultimately Bev taught me how to quilt. Often, her calls would begin with "got a minute?" and proceed to some question about the mathematics of a quilt block. How nice to find a kindred soul to talk "math" with after retirement! She is missed on so many levels.

Bev what are we to do without your creative mind and mathmatical abilities? Not to mention all the jokes you would gather for our retreats!! No one could tell them like you! I will always cherish our time together and never forget the last we spoke. You called me the night you got to Regency to find out about Kathy and her husband. Just like you to be thinking of others when you were not feeling well yourself! My life has become richer because of you and now poorer without you. Heaven has a jewel...I will miss you my dear quilt sister and will see you again one day.

I will miss my best friend, Bev. She showed me how to live one's life to the fullest - sharing and laughter. Bev taught me my quilting skills starting at Western Hills going on for 10 years. My deepest condolences to Alma, Marvin and children.

I met Bev through the Fort Worth Quilt Guild, but I really got to know her from going on retreats with her. She was one of the most generous people I know, whether it was with material things or herself. Bev taught me a lot, how to enjoy life to the fullest plus many quilting ideas as well as many other things. I will miss my retreat buddy very much, it is going to be totally weird to look across the table and not see her there. I agree with Grace, I will miss the phone calls where she would say "Hey, this is Bev, got a minute". In the last few days when I have had a question about something I would think "I'll call Bev and ask her" then I realized I couldn't do that anymore. Bev, as you are looking down on all of us from your perch on high, send me a solution to my dilemmas as you always did while you were here beside me. I know you will be teaching in heaven as you did here on earth. I will miss you Bev, rest comfortably.

Marvin and family, if there is anything I can do for you during this time please do hesitate to call on me.

I met Bev when she came to Southwest High School; she was my secret pal that first year. She gave herself away pretty quickly, first because she gave me fat quarters, and who but a quilter knows what those are, and second because she invariably visited the library soon after she left a surprise in my box. She was always a teacher, whether it was math or quilting. When she was department chair, she could have taken the plum classes for herself, but she gave herself the most difficult classes. She was always finding new projects for the Tight Knots and always eager to teach. She was the first person to send me her instructions for our November guild program, "Last Minute Gifts" and was looking forward to showing everyone how to make the fabric balls. Maybe we should all make one of those balls in honor of her.

I will miss the phone calls that always began this way..... "Hey, this is Bev. Got a minute?"

Rest in piece, Bev.

The "Tool Lady", has added a beautiful feature to her colorful patch-work hard-hat - a halo - and, I expect it is a spectacular patch-work halo at that! I can see her now, teaching the angels how to piece. Bev, we will miss you.

Just when I thought that surviving Algebra II and Geometry with my sophmore was hopeless, we found Bev. She not only helped my (hard-headed) son get through both classes but she took the time to teach me to help him as well. She tutored both of my sons and when I returned to school this year, she was there to help me with math, reassure me and lift my spirits when it was tough. It was an honor to have known you and I will keep my promise to not give up.
