The FWQG Quilt Show Committee has already begun monthly meetings in preparation for the 2012 quilt show. The meetings are held at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (our show venue) at 6 pm on the first Thursday of each month, except December. All meetings are open to any guild members who wish to attend.
At the October meeting of the Quilt Show Committee, we discussed the categories of quilts and will be making adjustments in the categories for our 2012 show. You will be receiving information about the new categories very soon.
Challenge Block!
Pieced, appliquéd, collaged, embroidered… anything goes as long as you can fit it into a 12.5 inch square! The 2012 Show Committee challenges you to create a masterpiece on the theme “Quilts in Bloom”. Blocks will be judged by the membership present at the July meeting. Ribbons will be awarded at the show. What will you create? Carolina Lily, Dresden Plate, Lonestar flowers, pinwheel flowers, blooming 9-patches, something completely original…
